How much of me is in my issues paper...

Well, let's see. After doing our group meetings with Professor Croker, I was taught that we should basically not be in our papers. Why? Because we have no reason to be. We are not creditable nor are we capable of saying "this is a fact because blah blah blah". However we can say, "this is a fact because this big guy who is legit said so...". Though I am the one compliling to "facts" to present an argument, I must not use "I" etc.

1. What is the main idea?

Basically, Stemcell research is no longer banned, and though some are opposed to this, for those with many diseases this is a wonderful start to finding a cure

2. How well is the argument stated?

Very well in my opinion.

3. Is the argument one that a reasonable person could disagree with?

Yes, I feel that she addresses both sides well though, so if someone were to disagree she already has them covered.

4. Does the scope of the argument fit the assignment? (Can this be adequately covered in 8-10 pages?)

Most definitely. There is so much research and ideas out there to pull from.

5. Does the structure of the introduction serve to help the reader transition into the paper?

I think so. She says that though there are ethical risks, the benefits outweigh them. This is part of her thesis. And then her next paragraph gives the reader some background. wonderful job meg.

6. Does the evidence seem adequate and credible?

I think there could be a few more paragraphs on what diseases this could help exactly.. just more specifics... i'm curious about if it could cure cancer and what the professionals think about that. But yes, the sources and evidence do seem credible.

So, my topic is prostitution and... well not sure. Maybe how it effects capitalism? And how underdeveloped countries send their "service" to developed countries... or maybe child prostitution (I need an argument though). I SERIOUSLY need to do some more research. As I have been researching though, The ideas in the journals HAVE helped to shape my argument because then I know there are articles on that given subject. It is a work in progress that hopefully will progress. That is all...

I'm not exactly sure where I want to devote my focus for a 10 page paper. I'm thinking at this point I will discuss globalization and its effect on American jobs- and how many of them are going across sea due to the lesser cost.

I think there will be a lot of information on this topic and many peer reviewed journals etc. When sources are plentiful it makes for more discussion and better research.

I will probably have to narrow in on this subject, just so it is not so generic.
